Eddie Ross DAY!

    Prior to blogging I hated attending the antique flea markets my mom would drag me to at 5 am on Sunday mornings, and all of her antiques that once seemed like a mass amount of clutter. I thought I knew what I liked in terms of decor, my idea of decorating was filling it with mass produced furniture, not something that had character, was quality and had a story. Though I can't point my finger on the exact date I found it acceptable to "mix the old with the new", one thing is for sure- I owe it all to blogging. I spent hours upon hours researching design blogs, mainly Eddie Ross', which is why I'm celebrating Eddie Ross day today!!!! He's been an inspiration to many of us, and let me know it's okay to mix purple, turquoise, black, white and yellow in one room. If you haven't checked out the Big Window Challenge at Apartment Therapy, I suggest you do. When I opened my inbox and saw the gorgeous window Eddie had created, I instantly fell in love. When I found out it was Eddie's it made sense, how could it not? Today is the last day to vote for one of our favorite bloggers, Mr. Eddie Ross. .....to see the sun! I must sound like a broken record, but I am really ready for warmer temps, the sun to breakthrough for at least a second, a new chaise lounge with a black and white chevron print lounge pad, underneath a yellow and white chevron print umbrella on my dock! Is this picture not perfect?! It's been a personal favorite since I started blogging way back when.

Umbrellas For American Red Cross

    I received an email last week letting me know that gorgeous boutique, Unique Vintage is donating 20% of sales from their Umbrella Collection to the American Red Cross through the end of January. With California inundated with rain and floods, this couldn't come at a more perfect time. Stay dry and help those in need!

Dry Weekend You Say? YAY!

It's been an incredibly cold, rainy, stressful yet productive week!

The puppy lost a tooth, I felt like a proud mom...well, that was until he jumped on the vintage white chair, grabbed a cup of coffee and spilled it all over it. I will not go into detail about everything else he's done (this week), as frankly it isn't much better!

The storm's been bad, our septic went out which means NO TOILETS! Yaaaaaay!!! Not to worry, they're back. Hallelujah!!!

On a positive note, I've been working really hard on editing images!

She and I became good friends in junior high, and other than running into each other about 8 years ago in college, we haven't really seen each other. Thanks to social networking we have become reacquainted and I'll be seeing her this weekend! I'm so excited about it! Btw...she just opened up a jewelry shop on etsy, and is uber talented!!!

Lessons learned

* Stay away from cheap Nail salons (you know which ones I'm talking about) no matter how new and clean they appear. I received a beautiful bracelet for Christmas that I've been meaning to post, but can't because of a gorgeous infection!

* Listen to your true friends.

* Get second opinions with EVERYTHING! Not just your health, but with any type of big decision you have to make. If somebody/business doesn't tell you what you want to hear, try elsewhere.

* Invest! There was a product I was looking to purchase months ago, but didn't try. I get bummed out when I check ebay and see how much people are now bidding on it.

* No matter how big this puppy gets he ALWAYS wants to be held. Tomorrow he'll be 5 months, and I have a feeling the next five months will be filled with him napping in my lap or wanting to be held!

* When you're purchasing anything that requires a contract always ask if you have 30 days to cancel. You never know what could go wrong with the equipment, or if you're not going to like the service.

* Go with your gut, follow your instincts and never sell yourself short. People always say "never give up" but sometimes letting go is the best thing you can do for yourself.

* I'm going to stop telling people my age. I'm in my late 20's and people treat me as though I'm 87. Seriously I have my whole life ahead of me, leave me the you know what alone!

BCBG - (Bad Candi, Bad Girl)

    I've been a terrible person this week, just terrible! And yes, I'm typing this in my best Charles Barkley voice. I've been good about only shopping "the sales" but yes, I've been shopping. I was recently browsing BCBG when I noticed a cardigan that reminded me of one my mom bought me at Abercrombie & Fitch years ago, which I wish I still had! I wasn't eager to pay the retail price for it, so I didn't even bother. Well, that was until yesterday when I received an email from BCBG inviting me to shop my little heart out with an extra 30% off sweaters already marked down. There's something else I want to purchase at the end of the month, but I'm hoping my internet goes down tonight until the 30th, so I will not continue to be enticed. Well, that is unless someone wants to contribute to my etsy or artfire fund! ;)

The leggings still haven't arrived, so let's hope for the sweaters sake, I love them or I may be auctioning off this BCBG jem! ;)

I don't know if it's all the Frappuccino I drank tonight, but I am really in the mood to reorganize! I have all these plans, like hanging the pictures I've been meaning to put up in my bedroom. I bought a few picture frames through Joann's,  Potterybarn, and Costco over the summer, but it's all a matter of choosing which photos I've taken to put in them. Hmmmmm....

Next thing I want to do is go through my closet- pick which clothes I'd like to get rid of, what needs to be dry cleaned, and if I need to do some SHOPPING! I've been a good girl as of late, I used to shop like it was going out of style, but that's a whole other story! LOL

 I'm FINALLY getting on the leggings bandwagon! I haven't been there since the early 90's when I was a wee bitty little gal, because I'm embarrassed of my skinny chicken legs. We shall see when they arrive, if I'm still on this kick! ;)
