Every year in July, during the warmest part of the summer, my pretty view of the open field across the street starts to disappear as the corn stalks grow larger and taller day to day.
As you can see, the corn wasn't very tall at this point, but I just love the sunset!
*In late August to early September, we cut a few ears of corn, put it in a molino (meat grinder) and make corn tamales out of them. This is something I have always grown up with, and let me tell you it's the best!
A few weeks ago, they started harvesting the corn, and with it came these.....
They wake me up around 5 every morning, and fly back in the evening. They don't call them honkers for nothing! Talk about LOUD!!!
Flying away. Once I left, they all came back.
Here they are in mid air. In the distance is a vineyard. They produce grapes for Gallo and a few other wineries!
Have a wonderful weekend! Remember to take a deep breath, relax and enjoy!
As most Friday's I am participating in Beautiful Life Fridays at The Inspired Room and Hooked On Fridays at Hooked on Houses!
